    SDSTA Summer Professional Development:

    Ambitious Science Teaching Book Study

Join us for a book study over Ambitious Science Teaching! This book study will meet virtually over the month of June for one kick-off meeting (to be scheduled between May 25-29) and four small group meetings with your assigned team. After completing the book, participants will complete a final implementation project in order to meaningfully connect their reading with classroom practices.

Book study participants will be split into small groups with a group leader and each group will work to schedule their own meetings. Groups will be assigned by common availability as best we can.

This book study is FREE for all SDSTA members and $50 for non-members. One graduate credit is available from BHSU CAMSE for $40.

Please contact SDSTA President Leslie Sauder or SDSTA Past-President Ally Bowers with any questions!

February 05, 2026 SD STEM Ed Conference 2026

SD STEM Ed

The SD STEM Ed Conference is hosted by the South Dakota Council of Teachers of Mathematics (SDCTM) and the South Dakota Science Teaching Association (SDSTA). Together, our organizations founded the SDCTM SDSTA Joint Professional Development Conference, the JPDC. We have co-hosted this conference for over 30 years because we believe that South Dakota teachers can go farther together and South Dakota students deserve the best math and science experiences that we can offer.
